Query Based Learning of XPath Fragments
نویسندگان
چکیده
XPath is a language for XML document navigation. It is part of many XML related applications and standards such as XSLT, Document Object Models, XQuery, XLink, etc. This paper studies active forms of learning XPath expressions. In particular, we show nonlearnability of the XPath fragments using the equivalence and membership queries. In response to these negative results and visualisation problems we de ne more suitable tree-pre x queries and present a polynomial learning algorithm which uses them.

A DTD Graph Based XPath Query Subsumption Test
XPath expressions play a central role in querying for XML fragments. We present a containment test of two XPath queries which checks whether a new XPath query XP1 can reuse a previous query result XP2. The key idea is to transform XP1 into a graph which is used to search for sequences of elements which are used in the XPath query XP2.
متن کاملAn XPath Algebraic Characterization of A ( k ) and P ( k ) Indices with Applications to Query Processing
Recent studies have proposed structural summary techniques for path query evaluation on semi-structured data sources. One major line of this research has been the introduction of the DataGuide, 1-index, 2-index, and A(k) indices, and subsequent investigations and generalizations. Another recent study has considered structural characterizations of fragments of XPath, the standard path navigation...
متن کاملDisclosure by Answers to XPath Queries
We consider information disclosure caused by answering queries to an XML database. We introduce an audit framework to determine ‘suspicious’ user queries, i.e. those queries that returned results being sufficient to derive disclosed secret information. We describe secret information in form of a secret query and provide a formal definition of ‘suspicious’ user queries based on what we call ‘rea...

متن کاملXPath for DL Ontologies
Applications of description logics (DLs) such as OWL 2 and ontology-based data access (OBDA) require understanding of how to pose database queries over DL knowledge bases. While there have been many studies regarding traditional relational query formalisms such as conjunctive queries and their extensions, little attention has been paid to graph database queries, despite the fact that graph data...
